Getting Started in the 6ix

Through a creative partnership with the  and the support of the , this project engaged youth and civic leaders linked to Canada鈥檚 newcomer communities. Getting Started in the 6ix is continuing to talk about the vast contributions of newcomers with the intention of increasing Canada鈥檚 capacity for knowledge mobilization, innovation, inclusion, and co-prosperity. This project showcased the uniqueness of Toronto鈥檚 emerging generation of youth, exploring experiences and support systems that drive their entrepreneurial actions and remarkable results. 

Over the span of one year this partnership provided research placement opportunities for three graduate students, collaborated with an artist collective to build an installation, involved a seminar at the AGO, launched a magazine and cinematic virtual reality  of newcomer entrepreneurs, and concluded with a  that was led by .
